For optimum results during ground work and lunging, it is essential that the cavesson fits perfectly. That’s why we manufacture your Equizaum® individually for you according to your wishes.
It can also be perfectly adjusted to fit a wide variety of horse heads: The cheek straps can be adjusted in height so that they lie below the cheekbone. The girth strap is also height-adjustable.
The all-rounder among cavessons is so versatile: as a cavesson, as two different bitless bridles and three different types of bridles with bits.
This means you can easily switch between working sessions on the ground and riding.
Your Equizaum® 💎Unique💎 is lovingly and carefully crafted for you in our factory – you decide the color and size of each strap, choose the padding and thread color according to your style and make it even more unique with an optional lettering or logo. Every detail is customized according to your wishes – for a truly unique piece that is as unique as you and your horse.
To put a bit in your tack room, Taomero or EquitrenseVario you need Bithanger. Do you use in addition to the bithangers our turnout, you can combine riding with bit and without bit.
Do you want your equestrian bridle to be even more stable? Simply replace the nose pad with one with nose reinforcement. You can choose between a nose bow made from a fiberglass bow or a metal bow. The pads can be easily exchanged using Velcro.
To protect your horse’s sensitive neck area, use our ergonomic, pressure-relieving neck patches.
With the BitlessBridle You can use Equizaum, Taomero and Equitrense® Vario as a BitlessBridle.
The classic Taomero® has a moving halter ring – this means that the ring can turn slightly with the horse’s movement. This ensures a particularly smooth fit and prevents the halter from slipping into the eye – especially when moving or pulling on the lunge line.
In the current season of “Die Pferdeprofis”, Jenny and Peer use a special version with a firmly sewn halter ring. Why? In some training situations – especially with very fine ground work – it is important that even the smallest signals reach the horse with pinpoint accuracy.
We now have a supplementary chin strap with a fixed halter ring for this purpose. This can be easily replaced if you have a Taomero® with an adjustable chin strap – or selected directly in the configurator.
You decide whether you prefer agile and comfortable – or targeted and direct.
The nose bow is ALWAYS sewn into the pad. All pads are attached to the Equizaum® with Velcro and can be changed quickly and easily.
Fiberglass bow:
The fiberglass bow is particularly light and hardly bulky, but offers additional shape stability when lunging. It has a small marking seam in the middle to help you fit the bow into your Equizaum® cavesson. Please do not bend the fiberglass bow by force.
Metal noseband:
The metal reinforcement for our Equizaum® cavesson is made of copper, as it is easy to shape and yet remains stable. We recommend the metal noseband from thoroughbred nose size.
The soft bit allows fine, adjustable rein guidance with and without a bit. It is attached to the sidepull ring with the small carabiner and to the bit ring with the large carabiner(snap). The length-adjustable strap regulates the effect:
➡️ Even pressure distribution on the mouth and nose
➡️ Stronger effect on one of the two variants
Ideal for:
✔ Sensitive horses
✔ Switching from bit to bitless
✔ Riders with a restless hand
Thanks to the turnouts, you can fine-tune the dosage as required and communicate harmoniously with your horse – for more flexibility and horse-friendly riding!
Dr. Vivian Gabor: “Horses communicate via body language such as facial expressions, gestures and muscle tension. If we pay attention to our own body tension and consciously create closeness and distance, we communicate in a horse-friendly way. With exercises that use body language to give and take space, we create trust and security. The conscious use of our body language enables clear and subtle communication, both from the ground and from the saddle. As a horse behavior trainer, fine, measured communication with the horse is important to me, supported by the Taomero, which can be used in a variety of ways in long rope work.” More information at www.IVK-center.de.
Working on the double lunge is another very effective way of training your horse from the ground. For example, you can prepare your horse for riding, work on bending and position, prepare for driving. But above all, this training offers wonderful variety with a wide range of exercise options.
The two lunges, attached to the bit or sidepull rings, simulate the reins. You can therefore support the ground work wonderfully with fine rein aids, bend and position your horse on the lunge line and offer him the stretching position again and again.
Note: As the long lines have a slight or even very large leverage effect due to the line guide – depending on how they are buckled – your aids will be amplified. Added to this is the weight of the lunge line – the heavier it is, the more swinging. So work carefully and finely and don’t underestimate your strength.
To strap a bit into your Equizaum®, Taomero® or your Equitrense® Vario, you need bit retainers.
The bitless bridle straps are hooked into the D-rings on the cheek piece, crossed under the horse’s head and threaded through the sidepull rings. Your reins are attached to the loop at the end of the straps. This allows you to apply pressure at various points without using leverage.
Combine riding with and without a bit: click the small carabiner of the “Weiche” into the sidepull ring, the large one (snap) into the bit ring and attach your reins to it. Use your hand position to control the pressure on the noseband or mouth gap.
NeckPatches: Our two-part neck pad relieves your horse’s sensitive neck area. The two patches are connected by a length-adjustable bar that forms a “bridge” over the sensitive neckband and prevents pressure.
Riding with Equizügel® as a neck ring, i.e. without a headstall, is the dream of many horse people. It shows the ultimate trust between you and your horse, a sense of achievement that is great fun and boosts the self-confidence of both of you.
The path to riding without a connection to the horse’s head is often not entirely safe and should be worked on step by step . To begin with, you should always practise in a closed riding arena! Initially use the Equizügel® in addition to your normal bridle. Read the text “How to hold the Equizügel®”. Practice a few times in the arena until you feel confident and can slowly start to let the normal reins slip a few centimeters out of your hand. In this way, you and your horse can slowly and gradually get used to communicating with your weight and leg, independent of the reins. In this way, you can gradually let the reins go longer and longer or, if necessary, pick them up again. Until you are only riding your horse with the Equizügel®, your weight and your leg – a great feeling!
Your horse is gently encouraged to shift its weight from the forehand to the hindquarters by an impulse in the chest area. This supports horses that are difficult to bring upright, horses that tend to stumble, but also horses that like to lie on the reins due to a lack of balance or tend to run off. Overall, the Equizügel® is used to support the horse’s balance and coordination.
But the rider also benefits from riding with the Equizügel®, because the hands have a smaller radius of action, which inevitably leads to the rider consciously creating body tension in the back and thus considerably improving his sitting position. The interaction between seat and action is promoted by the self-learning effect. Riding independent of the reins is trained in this way.
By carefully yielding the normal reins, you can feel your way towards riding without reins without losing control or becoming unsure.
I went for a super nice Christmas ride yesterday in 8 degrees and rain.
I actually only use the Equizaum for lunging. I have to say, I just love it – and so does my Icelandic horse! Thank you for this great innovative bridle, Equimero!
After over a year of daily use with mud, rain, frost, rolling around in the arena, lunging, riding, walking, handwork, fright training and pretty much one hose down with the garden hose, the Equizaum still looks tiptop and has no scratches or anything else that I could complain about. I would recommend it to anyone at any time, with a very clear conscience, thank you Equimero
We love our beautiful Equizaum and it is almost our daily companion. The pony loves it and bitless, alone in the field is finally no longer a problem. In all gaits. We are simply happy! Thank you very much and Merry Christmas to you Celly and Kasan
Hello dear Equimero team.
Many thanks for the great cavesson. Great that it went so quickly.
Finally one that fits my horse properly and doesn’t slip. Best regards Kerstin and Fred
